Creating this collection changed the way I walk into the studio. From a compositional standpoint, finding the direction of the chase meant finding the flow of the whole piece...the through line of one animal pursuing another determines how a viewer moves through a painting, how fast their eye travels, where it lands, what they feel while they're looking. Pursuit isn't just a subject. It's a force.
