A lone fisherman sits in his rowboat, line cast and patient. Below the surface, someone is watching. A mermaid drifts through a current, pointing straight at the hook and warning the fish before it's too late.
Cautionary Tale is a story told in layers. Rolling waves, a band of fish, and a border of tiny dots stack like the decorative strips of a Portuguese azulejo tile, carrying your eye from the quiet scene above to the lively world below.
Azul grew out of Adam's time in Portugal, where life moves at a slower pace and people savor every moment. From tending the fields to feeding the chickens, each design celebrates the simple beauty of pastoral life, with a palette that pays tribute to the iconic azulejos that inspired it. This canvas brings that same calm, storybook charm, with a little mischief, to a living room, kitchen, or entryway. It makes a great gift for anyone who loves the sea, folk art, or a good fable.
